Trinity Baptist College has been accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools since 1997. In 2002 they received accreditation for 10 years requiring the college to seek reaffirmation in 2012. The process of gaining reaffirmation began in March 2011. An initial plan was submitted and approved and then the work began! A steering committee composed of administrative, faculty, staff, alumni, trustee, and student representatives oversaw the process. A variety of sub committees composed of representatives of those same groups carefully examined every area of the college from academics to student life to facilities to institutional effectiveness. Their reports were combined into a self study document with supporting documentation (over 4,000 pages long!) which was submitted to the commission. After its acceptance a team of five educators and a TRACS representative visited campus for several days last April. They met and interviewed a variety of students, alumni, faculty and staff. Their report at the end of the week provided TBC with recommendations of areas that could be improved. These recommendations are aimed at helping TBC improve the overall college experience of its students. TBC responded to the report in August showing compliance with a majority of the recommendations and indicating that the others were in progress. On November 6, 2012 President Mac Heavener and Senior Vice PResident Matt Beemer met with the commission and answered additional questions. Following that time the commission voted to approve TBC for Reaffirmation II status for a period of ten years. The college will continue to work on recommendations while it seeks to improve the student experience.
